Hello! Kia orana! Talofa lava! Taloha ni! Praise God for 2012!  I hope you have had a great Christmas and New Year season. The build-up to Christmas was exciting, especially with our Carols for Kids and the Christmas Eve services. I think attendance to our Carol for Kids was the largest yet and it was great to see everyone so excited and enthusiastic to participate in the service. I would like to acknowledge with gratitude those who helped with decorations and making sure that everything went smoothly. The Christmas day service saw numerous visitors from overseas share in our worship and it was uplifting to hear very positive comments of their experience with us. Our New Years Eve service continued to indicate a growing interest from people who recognise the significant transition of their life from 2011 into 2012. By writing some of their negative experiences of 2011 on a piece of paper and then throwing it into a rubbish bin place next to the cross at the front of the church was a very powerful symbolic act that helped them leave behind the negative burdens of 2011. Some commented how liberating it felt for them, but it reminds us all of God’s grace and forgiveness in our life through Jesus Christ. Read the rest of this entry »
